Partners In Christ. Therefore we ought to support such men that we may be fellow workers with the truth. 3rd John 8

DO NOT BRING ANY OF THE FOLLOWING:

Jewelry, costly watches, iPod, tape recorders, radios, cell phones, expensive cameras, game boys, CD players.

NO blow dryers, curling irons etc. There is not enough power and it is too hot.

It is important to label your water bottle. You will use your water bottle throughout the day while you are working. You will also fill your water bottle in the evening so you will have fresh water to brush your teeth with.

It is very important that you remember you can only drink the bottled water provided for you. You can and will get sick if you drink the tap water.

Short Term Missions

Acts 1:8 ". . . and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth."

My experience in Juan Tomás was life changing. It has now been over three years since I was given the opportunity to serve in the Dominican Republic along with my youth group. It was the summer after my freshman year of high school. I will be real honest with you, my life, as a Christian was not pleasing to God at all. I was a complete "Sunday Christian" and I took what I wanted from our faith, but gave nothing. I was in sin and falling from God. The impact that the people of the DR had on me was unbelievable. I saw how little they had, yet how much they gave. I saw the evil around them, yet the Light of God that shined through them. God challenged me to change my life and start living for Him. Before the trip, I had knowledge of Christ and what it meant to be a Christian. After the trip, I had a passion to act on my knowledge and to love God with all of my life. God used the people of Juan Tomás to change my life. And I thought I was going there to help them!
