What is My Role as a Sponsor?

Simply, be a friend. You are encouraged to write to your child, and they will be writing you also. The children love photos of you and your family and you are encouraged to send them your photo. Your monthly contribution will make it possible for a child to attend the Fountain of Life School. But the most important aspect of your sponsoring a child is praying for them daily. Prayer is the main foundation of the Partners Sponsorship Program.

What is the Ministry of Partners Child Sponsorship Program?

The purpose of Partners in Christ is to glorify God through relationship building. The "Partner with a Child Program" focuses on the relationship between the sponsor and the student. This will bridge the gap in the lives of poverty-stricken children in the village of Juan Tomás, in the Dominican Republic where Missionaries Paul and Linda McMillan have established the Juan Tomás Bible Center. The Fountain of Life School is now grades K-12. The students receive a well-rounded education, are fed breakfast each day, and are exposed to Christian teachers. By joining the sponsorship program, you will be able to impact the life of a child at the school. Not only are you making a commitment to the student, you are making a commitment to our Lord and Savior. Mark 10:14 says, "Let the little children come unto me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of God belongs to such as these." When you sponsor a child, you not only become a partner with the student, but you become a partner with the parents, teachers, and the Juan Tomás community.

What are the Living Conditions in Juan Tomás?

All of the students who are enrolled in the program live in poverty and many of the parents are unemployed, illiterate, and separated. The average income is $120-$130 a month. Partners in Christ has a goal of stopping this cycle. However, the most important goal is seeing the students come to know our Father. If you receive the gift of my son Jesus, you receive me. 1 John 2:23

How is My Contribution Used?

When you make a payment of $20 a month or $240 yearly (you can pay monthly, quarterly, semi-annually or annually) the tax deductible contribution is used as follows:

$168 – Tuition (which helps pay for teachers’ salaries)
$60 - Student supplies, uniforms, backpack, etc.
$10 - Christmas gift for the student
$2 - Annual Administration Cost/Sponsorship Program
The Parents of the students also pay 35% of the tuition (per student)

How Can I Become a Sponsor?

The Fountain of Life School has experienced a large influx of students over the last couple of years. Part of this is due to adding additional grades in the high school. At the top of this page you will find the number of students who are enrolled in the school and how many students need to be sponsored. Our goal is to see that every child has a sponsor. Your help is needed to reach this goal. For $20 a month you can make a difference in a student's life.
